Can I add extra bookable items to my space listing?

Hosts can create additional items and charges as part of the hourly hire of their spaces.

✵ This article is aimed at SpacetoCo Hosts. It assumes that you (as the Host) has followed the steps here and listed at least one space.


There are scenarios where you may want to offer an additional service, item, or charge in addition to the space booking. Examples include projectors, tables, chairs, or extra rates such as a commercial surcharge, or wedding hire. Each item/charge can be given the following attributes:

  • Name

  • Description

  • QTY (set to 1 by default)

  • Rate Type (either Fixed or charged by the hour)

  • Rate amount $

  • Spaces it’s available on

Hourly Rate Items & Charges explained further:

These get added to individual bookings and are calculated on the length of the booking.
For example, if a space is set at $10/hr, with an additional item costing $5/hr, then the total hourly cost would be $15/hr.

Fixed Rate Items & Charges explained further:

These get added to individual bookings as a fixed cost per booking.
For example, if a space is set at $10/hr, with an additional item costing $5, then the total hourly cost would be $10/hr + a $5 charge at checkout.
 

NOTE: Additional Items and Charges are ‘Global’, which means one item can be used across multiple spaces. This saves you needing to re-create the additional items each time you list a space.

To add Items & Charges, please follow these instructions. 

Step 1:

There are two places to manage your Items & Charges:

1. From the 'global' Items & Charges Section  2. OR, from within the Spaces Section
Navigate to your SpacetoCo Dashboard and Click on Items & Charges. You can also click here: https://app.spacetoco.com/dashboard/host/hire-items Navigate to your SpacetoCo Dashboard and Click on Spaces > Edit Space. You can also click here: https://app.spacetoco.com/dashboard/host/spaces

    Step 2:

    We recommend that you start adding your Items & Charges as part of the Spaces > Edit Space process/section. You can then move over to global management as you become more familiar with SpacetoCo.

    Click on the yellow button, 'Create New Item/Charge'.

    Step 3:

    Fill in all of the Item/Charge fields.

    Make sure you select Hourly or Fixed and also be clear to nominate which space(s) have this Item/Charge applied to it.

    Step 4:

    When you're done with your edits, be sure to click the yellow 'Update Space' button. That's it!
